About EarthAsylum Consulting

EarthAsylum was conceived with the basic belief that this is not how it's supposed to be. With the goal of making a difference and contributing to the success of others, EarthAsylum is poised to expose the reality that work can be and should be a place of self-actualization; a place of excitement and fulfillment; and a place which fosters great business and personal success through mutual growth and opportunity.

About The Name “EarthAsylum”

Apparently, some people get a negative connotation from the name “EarthAsylum”, particularly, the word “Asylum”. Many of us associate the word with its more recognized pairing of “Insane Asylum” and thus recall history’s bleak reputation of caring for the insane.

In contrast, the term “Asylum” is meant to refer not to a negative historical reputation, but rather to a more positive place of sanctity or sanctuary (what an Insane Asylum was intended to be - a sanctuary for the insane). Think of the alternate uses in our language such as “seeking asylum” - as in looking for safety.

So in choosing the name “EarthAsylum”, I was thinking of the more positive “sanctuary”. EarthAsylum was conceived with the idea and goal of bringing not only sustained success to our organizations, but new levels of productivity along with fulfillment and satisfaction to our working lives.

The Asylum I’m speaking of is the sanctuary we call work. Where personal satisfaction and high levels of performance are not a contradiction, they are necessities.

EarthAsylum's primary focus is in strengths-based performance. With a philosophy that each person's talents are enduring and unique and each person's greatest room for growth is in their areas of greatest strength, Kevin believes that by concentrating on improving weaknesses we diminish the real catalystic value of our strengths.

“Rather than spending time and energy on boosting sub-par performance areas to an acceptable level (and ignoring areas of excellence). We do better by spending a majority of time enhancing the areas in which we are already strong.” Says Kevin. “A successful performance management plan is centered on individual strengths.”

What is critical to corporate success and growth is employee engagement. Engagement is the level at which an employee volunteers discretionary time, effort, and brainpower. It starts with the front-line manager but takes deep involvement throughout the organization.

EarthAsylum delivers results, both to the employer and to the employee. Through strengths-based performance management, talent development, and structured best-practices, your business can achieve the results you desire and your employees will reach new levels of engagement through personal success.
